Scotch

Scotch. The king of whiskies. There are five whisky kingdoms in the realm of Scotland each with their own distinctive kind of flavor profiles.

Speyside, the largest of the regions in Scotland, is home to over half of all Scotch distilleries. Their signature style? Light on the peat and with luscious nutty fruit flavors. Some examples of Speyside whisky include: The Macallan, The Balvenie, Glenfiddich, Aberlour, Glen Moray and Tomintoul.

Campbeltown is home to a mere three distilleries, and in the Highlands they favor powerfully peaty drams, with a dose of floral elegance. The Islay and Lowland regions produce a distinctively smoky, briny style of Scotch.

Scotch can be made from malted barley or from other grains, like corn or wheat. Malt whisky produced at a single distillery is called single malt. Blended Scotch, is a blend of whiskies from different distilleries. Fall in love with the wide world of Scotch below.
