Whiskey

The world of whisk(e)y is wide - it is distilled in over 20 countries including Scotland, Japan, Ireland, United Sates, Canada, Taiwan, Sweden and India. There are a seemingly infinite number of different types of whiskies and whiskeys throughout the world, but there is one unifying trait: they are all distilled from any number of grains including barley, corn, rye, and wheat, and generally aged in wooden casks.

The type of whiskey or whisky is determined by the grain used in the distillation process, and the country of origin. Scotland, India and Japan leave out the “e” in whisky, while countries like Ireland and the United States spell it with the “e.”

Different grains deliver different flavors. Combine that with varying distillation methods by region and producer, and you get a whole world of flavors from sweet to bold and spicy, smoky and smooth. Explore the incredible world of whisk(e)y below.
